I hate waiting! Whether it is at the doctors office or in line at Walmart, waiting just bugs me. I want what I want and I want it NOW! I have been studying Luke 8:40-56 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke%208:40-56;&version=31;) this week. It must have been very difficult for Jairus to wait for Jesus while his daughter was dying. Jairus had an emergency. His daughter needed immediate help. Yet Jesus took time out to minister to a sick woman. During that time while Jairus was waiting his daughter died. It seemed that Jesus had made him wait too long. She was dead and there was nothing more that could be done. In the end, however, Jairus discovers that Jesus is the resurrection and the life. We often expect God to act immediately upon our requests. And yet He often waits for a better time. Only then can we see that God’s timing was best. Are you earnestly praying and waiting for God to act? Trust him as you wait for his perfect timing. It is truly hard to wait but in the end it will be worth it all.
“But those who wait on the LORD will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 NLT
