RODRIGUES NEWSLETTER

December 21st , 2007

Dear Friends,

<KENOX S730 / Samsung S730> Greetings from the Rodrigues family! Hope you all have a Wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Years!!!

As most of you are aware of, we received our Christmas present early this year. His name is Ryan Fread Rodrigues and was born on November 12th at 12:20 p.m., Manaus time. He weighed 7.7lbs and measured 20.4 inches. He was born by c-section. Praise the Lord everything went fine and I have been recuperating very well.

My mother was able to come and spend a month with us. She was a big help! Besides being a big help it was so good to just be together! She arrived on the 30th of November so we were able to have some good time together both before and after Ryan was born. My Father was also able to come and spend the last 10 days of mom’s month here. Unfortunately their time with us came and went much to fast, but we just thank the Lord for the precious memories and lot’s of pictures to remember our time together. When you live so far away from each other any little time we can have together is a present from God. As my dad always says, “We will have all of eternity together.” That is the only thing that comforts us is to know that our time here on earth is just for a short season and that we will have all of eternity together!

Another reason for praise is how well Nathan has been adapting to his little brother. He is very protective of him. Several times when someone has picked Ryan up he has told them to be careful. It’s surprising how much Nathan is picking up on things and learning about the world around him. Just the other night He asked me, “Mommy, where did you buy him?” I had to explain, “Nathan, you don’t buy babies. He is God’s present to Mommy and Daddy and you.” Please pray that God will give us wisdom daily as we guide these two little boys in the way they should go.

We plan to spend Christmas and New Years here in Boa Vista. Right after Christmas we will be moving from the guest house we are currently in to another one right here in town. This one has really been a blessing and we have had the privilege of using it for the last 3 years. Unfortunately the owner decided he wants it back. We praise the Lord He has provided two other smaller houses that we will be able to use at least in this coming year.

Somewhere around the 3rd of January we will be traveling as a family to Manaus to participate in our mission’s yearly conference. We should be back in Boa Vista a few days before the 24th as this is the date we plan on returning to the tribe.

.

Our special Thank You to each one of you who have so faithfully supported us financially and in prayer.

Because of Jesus,

João, Hope, Nathan and Ryan
