Dear Prayer Team,
Two of our deacons’ wives need urgent prayer.
Nelson’s wife, Mildred, is 35 years of age and was recently diagnosed with uterine cancer. Mildred is scheduled to undergo a hysterectomy this Saturday, December 29. Nelson and Mildred haven’t been able to have children, so the news of a hysterectomy is very difficult for them. Another big factor is the fact that Samaria, Nelson’s sister, is in the advanced stages of breast/bone cancer and could die at any time.
Carlos’s wife, Mariana is 27 years old. This past week she’s had a headache and short-term memory problems that eventually led to her being unresponsive yesterday. They diagnosed her this morning with a brain tumor. The other complicating factor is that Mariana is about 38 weeks pregnant with a son (already named Carlos Enrique). They were with family in Florida when all this took place and she has been taken to a hospital in Tampa. The likely scenario is that the medical staff will perform a cesarean section to deliver the baby and then do the neurosurgery in a subsequent operation. We don’t know whether the tumor is benign or malignant at this point.
